Training Day Gym Educational Article Eat Densely, Move Intensely – By Coach Chris

I think this message drives home a better message than "eat less, move more" & here's why

Eating less makes people petrified to lose weight because the idea of being hungry often is difficult for even the most seasoned athletes. And the simple truth is, for most people trying to achieve a healthy body weight and fitness level, you dont need to be hungry to lose fat. You need to eat more for less. Simply meaning, eat nutrient dense filling foods you enjoy that support your health, goals, satiety (fullness) and you will naturally consume the amount of calories you need for a healthy body weight

Secondly too often people think to lose fat they need to do ridiculous amounts of movement, and much of which is poor quality movement like endless cardio, low quality gym classes where you do 100 burpees with quarter rep push ups and an extended lower back. In reality, once nutrition is in place, you only need to strength train 2-3 hours a WEEK to see significant improvements in body composition, fitness & performance. If you arent interested in maximising your body composition, then any movement will suffice provided you enjoy it and can sustain it, think a brisk walk or riding a bike

That is why "Eat Densely, Move Intensely" is a great saying. Improving your Health & Fitness should be a process of thriving, not depriving
